The Congolese rainforests form a broad band of tropical lowland and swamp forests in the Congo River Basin and its tributaries. The area covers southeastern Cameroon, eastern Gabon, northern and central Congo-Brazzaville, northern and central Congo-Kinshasa, and southern and southwestern Central African Republic.

The Congolese rainforests are divided into five ecoregions, which contain most of the rainforests in the Congo Basin. The basin also contains three other ecoregions, which contain both rainforests and savannas.

Together with our partner, Itengo Global Business, based in Kinshasa, we are working to conserve these rainforests. Through annual purchases and investments in this rainforest we can guarantee that these areas will not be 'cut down'.

In this way Pajaros Arnaiz tries to compensate for its already low amount of CO2 emissions through these investments in Congo. In this way, it becomes "emission neutral" in the very short term. Once this milestone has been set, the next investment will be towards a zero-CO2 emissions policy.

Animals are only housed at Pajaros Arnaiz in facilities approved by the government services and under their supervision. In addition, we are asking for the cooperation of university professors from all over the world to participate in this project and give their vision on animal welfare.
